Today the class worked in small groups to deconstruct an open-ended response question. Then we examined the scoring guide to find key words to help the students as they try to distinguish between the different levels of essays. Next they graded sample writings as a group which we then discussed as a whole class while comparing their scores to the ones the college board gave.
