Today we were on a shorted schedule due to late start. The students were divided into groups of 4 and each group was given a folder with sample student essays written on the prompt that they wrote on yesterday. The students worked individually to grade each essay according to the scoring guide. Then they were given a few minutes to work together as a team to agree on a grade for each one. At the end of the class each group shared their scores for each essay and we discussed how close each group got to the actual score given to the essays by college board.
