At the beginning of class I collected the following items:  1.  bellringers for the unit  2.  pg. 616 critical reading question 1 (parts a,b, and c)  3.  "A Modest Proposal" graphic organizer (if they didn't turn it in on Friday)  4.  DPS viewing questions (if they didn't turn them in last Thurs.).  Students who did not turn these items in at the beginning of the class were given time to work on them during the class period today and turn them in for half credit.  Next I handed out the 17th and 18th century test study guide.  The test has been pushed back to Thursday of this week.  Students were given the period to work on it.

At the beginning of class I had the students turn in their Frankenstein journals.  Then we had a discussion about what popular culture tells us about Frankenstein.  Next we looked at gothic images and discussed what they had in common.  Lastly the class took notes on Gothic literature.
