At the beginning of class the students completed a bellringer. Afterwards I reviewed with them for the vocabulary quiz tomorrow. Then the class worked in 7 groups to finish reading the prologue of The Canterbury Tales lines 539-856 (pgs. 110-119). After about 10-15 minutes each group presented their pilgrim to the class and they filled out the empty spaces in their character charts. The charts were turned in at the end of the period.

I was not at school today because I was attending the SGA leadership conference with our SGA board members. At the beginning of class, students who completed flashcards for bonus turned them in. Then the students took their Canterbury Tales vocabulary quiz 2. Afterwards they copied down their new list of vocabulary words. Lastly they worked individually on a matching worksheet to help them match the characters from the prologue to their descriptions.
